Exploring Waterloo Greenway

Waterloo Greenway downtown Austin

Discover Austin's Newest Urban Oasis Just Steps from Vesper Residences

One of the many advantages of living at Vesper Residences is having some of Austin’s most exciting outdoor destinations right outside your door. Just a short walk from Rainey Street, residents enjoy easy access to the southern section of the Waterloo Greenway, including The Confluence, a vibrant new gathering space where Waller Creek meets Lady Bird Lake.

A Green Corridor Through Downtown Austin

The Waterloo Greenway is an ambitious 1.5-mile park system that follows Waller Creek through the heart of downtown Austin, stretching from 15th Street to Lady Bird Lake. Designed to connect neighborhoods, public spaces, trails, and cultural destinations, the Greenway is transforming the way people experience downtown.

At the northern end, Waterloo Park and the iconic Moody Amphitheater anchor the project with expansive green space, community programming, and live performances. Nearby, Symphony Square offers a peaceful retreat tucked among downtown’s historic architecture. Together, these destinations make up Phase One of the Greenway and are fully open to the public.

The Confluence: Vesper's Front Yard to Nature

For Vesper residents, the most immediate connection is to the southern section of the Greenway, where Phase Two has already come to life.

Just two blocks from Vesper’s front door, The Confluence offers direct access to a beautifully restored natural landscape at the meeting point of Waller Creek and Lady Bird Lake. This thoughtfully designed space blends native plantings, shaded pathways, overlooks, and gathering areas that create a seamless connection between the city and the waterfront.

From The Confluence, residents can follow the Waterloo Greenway north along Waller Creek to 4th Street, enjoying a scenic urban trail that feels worlds away from the bustle of downtown. When the Waterloo Greenway is complete, this will connect to the Northern section all the way to Waterloo Park.

Whether it’s a morning run, an evening stroll, or simply a quiet place to enjoy the outdoors, this growing network of parks and trails provides an extension of your living space beyond the walls of your home.

What's Next for Waterloo Greenway?

The Greenway continues to evolve with exciting additions on the horizon.

Palm Park, a two-acre park at 2nd Street, is currently slated to break ground in 2027 and will add another destination along the corridor.

Future plans also include The Refuge, the Greenway’s Phase Three segment, which will connect the existing northern and southern sections into one continuous park system. Currently in the design phase, this stretch will ultimately link The Confluence all the way to Waterloo Park, creating a fully connected experience from Lady Bird Lake to 15th Street.

Connected to What Matters

At Vesper Residences, walkability extends far beyond restaurants, nightlife, and downtown conveniences.
